Bug With XML Export

I've been exporting my stories to my files to make sure they're saved since keeping them in the browser is a little iffy. But every time I import a story, the format is messed up. Everything works correctly, but every apostrophe (') has a bunch of symbols next to it which takes forever to fix. So is this a bug? Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is there a workaround for this?
It may be possible the escape sequence of the apostraphe is being processed at some stage during your cut and paste. In the XML data the apostrophe should be represented with the following sequence ' For example don't would become don't If this sequence has been altered back to an apostrophe, then it will corrupt your import.
